Harrison Ford and Zac Efron circling Rob Reiner's 'You Belong To Me'
You think Harrison Ford's phone has been ringing off the hook lately? The veteran actor has been busier than ever lately, spending his 2012 filming the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, as well as the excellent-looking Paranoia opposite Gary Oldman. While he's also set for an adaptation of Ender's Game, what people are probably burning his ear about are Ridley Scott's upcoming Blade Runner follow-up, not to mention a little thing called Star Wars: Episode VII. If we might see an older Luke Skywalker like some speculate, could we also get a Han Solo appearance?
Whatever happens with those, Ford is keeping his dance card full, and now reports have him and Zac Efron circling Rob Reiner's return to thrillers with You Belong To Me. The Cape Fear-esque film follows a psychiatrist(Ford) struggling with a patient's recent suicide. Becoming friends with her brother James(Efron), he makes the mistake of revealing too much about his personal life, leading to James seducing his wife and daughter. Supposedly the script by David Murray has an incredible twist that hooked Reiner on the project, making it his first such genre film since 1990's Misery.
A March start date is being targeted, and if all the deals come together I feel like this is a film to keep a close watch on. Not only have we not seen Reiner do this sort of thing in awhile, but it'd be a departure for Ford and Efron at this point in their careers. [The Wrap]
