Even though Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock is based on Stephen Rebello's book, Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, the film is about a lot more than that. The behind-the-scenes look at the troubles the director faced from studios in trying to get his horror classic completed are interesting enough, but the focus is really on the often-contentious relationship between Hitchcock and his wife, Alma Reville.
Fox Searchlight thinks they have something really special here, as evidenced by the rather large marketing push the film has been getting. Today sees the release of a brand new poster highlighting the incredible cast, along with a brief clip where Hitchcock(Anthony Hopkins) and Alma(Helen Mirren) discuss over breakfast the idea of killing off Psycho's leading lady, Janet Leigh(Scarlett Johansson).
Co-starring Jessica Biel, Toni Collette, James D'Arcy, and Danny Huston, Hitchcock opens on November 23rd....
