The 1st 'Star Trek Into Darkness' poster has arrived!


It had to happen sooner or later that the curtain would be lifted on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, but the lengths he's gone to keep it under cover have been mighty impressive. Even at this late stage details are still thin, not exactly helped by the recently released plot synopsis. Do we even have confirmation on who Benedict Cumberbatch's villain is? We think we do, but do we really?

But now we're getting the deepest look at the film yet with the arrival of the first official poster, a U.K. one-sheet which features Cumberbatch's character staring over a London devastated by some cataclysmic event. It'll be interesting to see if the domestic poster features an American city. This arrives just in time, ahead of the 9-minute IMAX preview and trailer preceding The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
