Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart will 'Get Hard' in a new comedy
It's been a banner year for Kevin Hart, as it appears Hollywood has finally taken notice of what the comedian has to offer. He turned heads as part of the impressive Think Like A Man ensemble, and that has led to his rubbing shoulders with some pretty big names in future projects. Not only does he have a developing Think Like A Man sequel, but he's set for a remake of About Last Night; has Valet Guys opposite Kevin James; and will slug it out with Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro in Grudge Match. So what's next? A Will Ferrell comedy, naturally.
Hart will team up with Ferrell for Get Hard, a new comedy Warner Bros. may acquire from a script by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel(Key & Peele). Ferrell's Gary Sanchez Production will produce, with the story centering on a soft investment bank manager who is sentenced to maximum security prison for a crime he didn't commit. With 30 days until his sentence is to begin, he hires his streetwise car washer(Hart) to help toughen up before serving hard time.
This sounds great, and the sort of project that could catapult Hart into the big time. It's unclear when this will begin, as both men have a lot going on. I'm assuming we'll find out more when/if Warner Bros. picks up the rights.[Deadline]
