More details on Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar'
So Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises was totally shut out today during the Oscar nominations, it's still a very big deal any time he takes on a new project. Last night came word that he would next be directing Interstellar, a sci-fi flick based on a script by his brother, Jonathan. Well today brings a little more word about it, including a slightly different description.
In a Deadline story, they say that Nolan's plan is to rewrite Jonathan's script, merging an original idea of his with what his brother wrote. This isn't anything all that surprising, as they frequently have collaborated in this way, including with the Dark Knight trilogy. The story is said to be inspired by the theories of physicist Kip Jones, and follow a group of explorers traveling through a wormhole. Deadline offers an alternate logline, saying it “will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding.” Different and more vague.
It's unclear when filming will begin on Interstellar, but I'm already on pins and needles for it.
