Is Peter Dinklage the villain in 'X-men: Days of Future Past'?

The announcement by Bryan Singer that Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage would be joining X-men: Days of Future Past has sent sent the Internet fanboys into a tizzy of speculation. I must admit to being a part of it, and have spent a good chunk of the day batting ideas back and forth with fellow followers of Marvel's mighty mutants. Most think Dinklage will play Alpha Flight member, Puck, or maybe a new version of Toad, while my own opinion is that he'll play a member of the Trask family. If you don't know, the Trasks are mainly villains responsible for the creation and continued use of mutant-hunting Sentinels, which we know will play a large part in the film.

Now Variety says they have some information which may support my theory, stating flatly that Dinklage "will play the villain" in the time travel flick. He'll be the main antagonist, according to their sources, whatever those may be, but they don't say who he'll actually play.

Some are suggesting that Dinklage could be voicing a fully CGI baddie, basing that off Singer's recent comments about wanting to use the technology in such a way. I've speculated Nightcrawler could be brought back in such a fashion, maybe voiced by Alan Cumming. Either idea could work. Badass Digest say Dinklage could be Mister Sinister, one of the X-men's most persistent and powerful foes.  Not so sure about that one. He's far too complicated. At least we can totally write off Puck now.

So let the theories keep flying! X-men: Days of Future Past opens on July 18th.
