New posters for 'Olympus Has Fallen', 'Epic', 'The Company You Keep', and more
Perhaps because tomorrow is President's Day, a number of new posters have been released for Olympus Has Fallen, in which the most powerful dude in the free world gets rescued by Gerard Butler. There's an odd bit of synergy for ya. The latest batch features some of the strong supporting cast who will be standing around while Butler does his business. Angela Bassett is the head of Secret Service, while Dylan McDermott is a former agent. I had totally forgotten Rick Yune, last seen in The Man with the Iron Fists, was even in this. He plays one of the terrorists who has infiltrated the White House. Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, and Radha Mitchell co-star. Look for Olympus Has Fallen to hit theaters on March 22nd.
From the folks who gave us the yawn-worthy Ice Age and the excellent Rio, comes the 3D animated adventure film, Epic. Featuring the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Beyonce, and Christoph Waltz, the film follows a young girl who discovers a secret world deep in the forests, and becomes embroiled in a battle between the good inhabitants known as the Leafmen, and the forces of evil trying to destroy them. Epic arrives in theaters on May 24th.
Earlier this week we received the latest trailer for screen legend Robert Redford's The Company You Keep, and now we've got a new poster to go along with it. Redford writes, directs, and stars in the political thriller about an attorney who once had ties to a domestic terrorist outfit, but has since cleaned up his life. He's forced to go on the run when an ambitious journalist exposes his identity to the public. Shia LaBeouf, Susan Sarandon, Brit Marling, Anna Kendrick, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, Terrence Howard, Richard Jenkins, Sam Elliot, Stephen Root, and Brendan Gleeson make up a cast that is...well, it's kind of unfair. The Company You Keep opens on April 5th.
Mira Nair's appeal to the mainstream with the Amelia Earhart biopic, Amelia, may have been a critical and box office failure, but she's making a comeback in a big way with The Reluctant Fundamentalist. Going back to what's worked for her in the past, the story follows a Pakistani man living in America who sees his perspective on the American Dream altered after 9/11. Riz Ahmed, Kiefer Sutherland, Kate Hudson, Liev Schreiber, and Martin Donovan star. The film debuted last year but hasn't gained a lot of attention just yet. Hopefully that will change when it opens on April 12th.
