While actors fight and scratch to get their foot in the door of a Marvel movie, for very good reason, some just want to duck their head in and get back out minus all the fuss. One of those is Bridesmaids star, Chris O'Dowd, who revealed to Indiewire that he has a brief cameo in Thor: The Dark World, where he'll apparently be dating Natalie Portman.
O'Dowd: "I think I'll do more dramatic stuff and I think I have some stuff coming out that's a bit more dramatic. I don't know if I'd do an action movie because I don't know if I could keep a straight face honestly, I just think it's so silly. Like I love watching them but I can't imagine me doing one. Actually, you know what I've done, just for fun because I didn't think there was any way that I could be in a superhero movie, so I've done a scene in the new "Thor" movie, just for that. I just do like one scene, which was quite fun."
Apparently gone unnoticed was a tweet by O'Dowd back in November where he said he was filming a date scene with Portman. Does that mean O'Dowd is playing Jane Foster's ex, Donald Blake? Although Gulliver's Travels is pretty terrible, it showed that O'Dowd could make for a hilarious bad guy if Marvel ever wanted to go that route. We'll have to keep an eye out for him when Thor: The Dark World opens on November 8th.
