If there was one think about the awesome under the radar hit of 2010, Kick-Ass, that everyone remembered it was the adorable and deadly Hit Girl played perfectly by Chloe Grace Moretz. Sure Aaron Johnson was good as the films titular hero and Nic Cage delivered a rare home run performance as Big Daddy but it was Moretz's 11 year old assassin that stole the show. Apparently Universal noticed the same things we did as the new international trailer for Kick-Ass 2 is all about the purple haired, pint-sized dealer of death.
They take time to showcase Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes, which is awesome since I think this will be the beginning of a comeback for the former crown prince of Hollywood comedy but they take most of their time to focus on the real star of the show. From the looks of it Kick-Ass 2 will see Mindy trying to adjust to a normal life full of high school and cheerleading but some things can't be held down forever, as the title cards of the trailer will tell you. I, for one, am SOO cised for this flick to come out this August. This looks like it just may be one of those rare sequels that tops the original, now I just have to suppress my desire to spoil the film for myself by reading the comics before the release date!
