New posters for 'Iron Man 3', 'Turbo', 'To the Wonder', and more

While the Internet is still reeling from the incredible, hulk-busting trailer for Iron Man 3, Marvel has released a new poster putting Tony Stark and Pepper Potts front and center with his drone army in the background. It's the American version of the previously released Japanese one for the film, directed by Shane Black and hitting theaters on May 3rd.

Dreamworks Animation is banking hard on two films to carry their studio throughout 2013. One is the prehistoric comedy The Croods, which opens in theaters very soon. The next is Turbo, about a snail with dreams of winning the Indianapolis 500. Featuring the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith, Snoop Lion, and Samuel L. Jackson, Turbo races into your multiplex on July 19th.

It's another glorious, poetic image from Terrence Malick's To the Wonder, featuring stars Ben Affleck and the beautiful Olga Kurylenko in a cozy embrace. Also starring Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem, the story centers on a couple who meet and fall in love in France, but return to his hometown in Oklahoma to begin a life together. He rekindles a relationship with a former flame, while she becomes acquainted with a struggling priest.

One film that I think could be a surprise awards contender is 42, Brian Helgeland's biopic on legendary athlete and civil rights icon, Jackie Robinson. Three new posters have emerged for the film which puts newcomer Chadwick Boseman in the lead role, and Nicole Beharie (Shame) as his wife, Rachel Isum. Also starring Harrison Ford, Christopher Melonie, Lucas Black, and Alan Tudyk, 42 takes the plate on April 12th, just in time for the MLB season.

And here's a wildly creative new Mondo poster for Mud, the third film from Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter) that features what many are calling a tour de force performance by Matthew McConaughey. Packing an impressive cast including Reese Witherspoon, Sam Shepard, and Nichols favorite Michael Shannon, the film centers on two Arkansas boys who help an escaped fugitive evade his pursuers so he can be reunited with his long lost love. Mud is headed for SXSW before hitting theaters on April 26th.
