New posters for 'Now You See Me', 'Spring Breakers', 'The East', and more

There's a definite Ocean's Eleven quality to Louis Leterrier's illusionist heist film, Now You See Me.  Perhaps that's why the latest poster bears such a striking resemblance to the one-sheets for Steven Soderbergh's star-studded ensemble. It is a clever way of putting the incredible cast front and center, boasting the talents of Jesse Eisenberg, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, and Melanie Laurent. The film centers on a cat 'n mouse chase between a team of illusionists/bank robbers and the FBI squad assembled to bring them down. Now You See Me opens on May 31st.

Is there anything left to say about Harmoney Korine's Spring Breakers at this point? You know we were quaking with excitement for it, and you'll find out tomorrow if it lived up to the hype. The film is already out in some locations, but there's still time for a handful of new posters featuring the nubile, young cast and James Franco as a gangsta thug.

Although it already had a distribution deal locked up, Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling's eco-terrorist thriller The East had quite a showing at Sundance. Marling stars as a corporate spy who infiltrates the titular anarchist group, and discovers that everything she thought she knew may have been a lie. Also starring Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard, the film will challenge Now You See Me on May 31st. Check out my early review here.

Practically every lingering mystery surrounding Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is put on display in the new poster for Room 237, a documentary which explores all of the potential meanings of the classic horror.  Rodney Ascher directs the film, and as the image clearly states in big bold type, the Kubrick estate doesn't want to have anything to do with the film, which only makes it more intriguing. Look for it to hit theater on March 29th.
