New posters for 'The Hangover Part III', 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters', and 'The Great Gatsby'

After dealing mostly with Alan's incompetence and their own fuzzy memories in The Hangover, of late the Wolfpack have found themselves trying to fend off the occasional bad guy. It was Paul Giamatti in the last film, and for The Hangover Part III it'll be none other than John Goodman. The latest poster for the May 24th release features a glowering, menacing Goodman standing over a captured Alan. With a tagline that reads "It Ends", this should be the big blow off for Todd Phillips' drug-fueled raunchy comedy. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham, Mike Epps, Mike Tyson, Jamie Chung, Ken Jeong, and more will get in on the action that takes them from Tijuana back to Las Vegas.

A new poster has emerged for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, giving us a look at their ultimate destination, which according to Stanley Tucci's character Mr. D, is located somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle. The sequel to 2010's Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief brings back stars Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson for another adventure steeped in Greek mythology. With their home in danger from an unknown threat, the three demigods must venture to the sea of monsters to find the Golden Fleece. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters opens on August 16th.

Warner Bros. has issued yet another poster for The Great Gatsby (the 18th by my count), which features stars Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio off for a ride in Gatsby's yellow car. Colors have a special importance in F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic book, and what I took away from it is that the yellow symbolizes something that isn't authentic. Fitzgerald uses "gold" for the things that are, but yellow tends to be the opposite, something that seems real but isn't. It's all flash but little substance. Gatsby isn't exactly the man he claims to be, and his car is the shining example of it.  It looks like Baz Luhrmann has picked up on some of these same ideas because his film pops with vibrant, meaningful hues of all types. The Great Gatsby hits theaters in 3D on May 10th.
