New International Trailer for 'Insidious: Chapter 2'
If the $87M The Conjuring earned in two weeks proves anything, it's that James Wan still has the golden touch for horror. He has a knack for making the most out of his small-budget thrillers, and studios are eating up the box office dollars just as readily as audiences are the scares. And he's far from finished, as a sequel to his $97M hit (budgeted at $1.5M) Insidious is coming up this fall, and a new trailer is starting to make the rounds.
Insidious: Chapter 2 brings back Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne as the heads of the troubled Lambert family, as they again find their home haunted by malevolent spirits and things that go bump in the cellar. This international cut of the trailer features much of the same footage as before, but there is enough new material that it's worth taking a look at. Wan's films are a rarity in that critics seem to have taken to them as much as audiences, and there's a deep appreciation for how he's able to use different styles to equal effect. Saw is completely different from The Conjuring which is nothing like Insidious, and yet they all work.
Insidious: Chapter 2 haunts theaters on September 13th.
