Hey look, RIPD may have cooled some on comic book movies not tagged with the Marvel/DC stamp, but Kick-Ass 2 should still be pretty awesome, right? After losing the direction of Matthew Vaughn (he still co-wrote and is producing) in favor of the mostly unknown Jeff Wadlow, everything we've seen so far is that the film will be just as outrageous, violent, and deeply cynical as before. And in case there are still some who haven't jumped back onto the bandwagon, a couple of new clips have been released.
Now that vigilante heroes have become the norm, we see Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) attempting to blend into society while keeping up their crime fighting ways. Some are better at it than others, though, and in one clip we see Hit Girl successfully keeping her foster father (Morris Chestnut) at bay, while in the next clip Kick-Ass easily recognizes his buddy Marty (Clark Duke) as the hero, Battle Guy. While it's cool to see the Justice Forever gang in their downtime, the real takeaway is that Lindy Booth is incredibly hot as Night Bitch. Let's just say I'm quite happy that Wadlow brought his Cry Wolf star into the fold.
Kick-Ass 2 goes balls to the wall on August 16th. Check out the clips below, plus a handful of new pics.
