New International Trailer for '47 Ronin' with Keanu Reeves

Of the two action films Keanu Reeves has on the way, his directorial debut Man of Tai Chi is probably the most intriguing to American audiences because it's basically Bloodsport meets Fight Club. The one they have a significantly better chance to actually see in a theater is 47 Ronin, which has an actual release date and a supporting cast that have been very busy in some of the summer's biggest blockbusters.

A new international trailer has been released and, not surprisingly, Reeves is thrust into the background and diverse supporting cast brought into the spotlight. Based on China's most famous story, the film has Reeves starring alongside Rinko Kikuchi (Pacific Rim), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine), and Tadanobu Asano (Thor: The Dark World) as leaderless samurai seeking revenge for the murder of their master. The film is directed by Carl Erik Rinsch, and it looks like there will be plenty of clanging katana swords against supernatural foes.

After numerous delays and production troubles, 47 Ronin is set to open on December 25th.
