Adrianne Palicki in 'John Wick'; Brady Corbet Joins 'While We're Young'; Kristin Chenoweth Meets 'The Boy Next Door'
* The Keanu Reeves hitman thriller John Wick has ramped up its casting all of a sudden. Just days after Willem Dafoe signed on, Adrianne Palicki , Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Dean Winters (Oz), and Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen have come aboard. Chad Stahelski & David Leitch will tag team the directing duties, with Reeves as a former assassin who tracks down the ones responsible for stealing his car and killing his late wife's dog. Dafoe plays his old friend and contract killer hired to take him out.
* Noah Baumbach has added the busy Brady Corbet (Funny Games) to the cast of his ensemble film, While We're Young. Starring Naomi Watts, Ben Stiller, Amanda Seyfried, and Adam Driver, the story centers on an uptight older couple who learn to loosen up after befriending a young, spirited pair. Corbet's role is unclear as Baumbach continues to keep details on this one close to the vest. [Deadline]
* Stage and screen veteran Kristin Chenoweth will add her welcome presence to The Boy Next Door, joining Jennifer Lopez in the Blumhouse Productions horror flick. She'll play Lopez's best friend (who will probably wind up dead) in the film about a single mother who begins an illicit relationship with the teenage boy who befriends her son. When she abruptly breaks things off with him, he goes all Fatal Attraction on her. Let's hope Chenoweth doesn't end up in a stew pot. [THR]
