New Trailer for 'Black Nativity' Starring Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson

Forest Whitaker has already tugged at your heart strings in The Butler, and now he's going to serve up some Christmas cheer. A new trailer has been released for Black Nativity, based on the acclaimed musical by Langston Hughes. Directed by the vastly underrated Kasi Lemmons and starring Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Tyrese Gibson, Jacob Latimore, Mary J. Blige, and Nas, the film follows a street-wise Baltimore kid whose single mother leaves him to spend the holidays with her estranged parents in New York City.

There's a shocking lack of true Christmas movies this holiday season, so it's nice to see Black Nativity fill that void. There's a healthy mix of original tracks and soulful covers of holiday classics, and of course with Hudson, Blige, and Latimore on board it all sounds pretty great.

Black Nativity opens on November 27th.
