Female Action Flick 'Expendabelles' Eyes Zoe Bell

When Millennium Films revealed they were planning to spinoff their geriatric testosterone flicks The Expendables with a female spinoff, cutely-titled The Expendabelles, a few obvious names emerged as potential stars. To their credit they shot the moon seeking Meryl Streep, Milla Jojovich, and Cameron Diaz, and while there hasn't been any word on whether those A-listers are interested, one of the toughest ladies in Hollywood may be coming aboard.

CraveOnline sat down with the smokin' and tough-as-nails Zoe Bell about her latest film Raze, and during the conversation she admitted to being approached for Expendabelles, but hasn't been made a formal offer....

Bell: “No, I have not yet [been offered] but we should print that they should. I’ve been in and I’ve met. Yes, I’ve had meetings with people but they haven’t got a director attached yet so that’s the next thing. I would obviously love to be involved in it.”

Bell, a favorite around these parts, is best known for her crazy stunts in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, and had a small role earlier this year in Tom Cruise's Oblivion. Legally Blond scribes McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith are writing the script, and it'll be interesting to see if a female director is sought. One would think so, right?

Adding Bell is a great start, but the film has a long way to go to match the rival "female Expendables" film developing over at 1984 Private Defense Contractors. That one has already secured Gina Carano, Katee Sackhoff, and You're Next butt-kicker Sharni Vinson.
