Is Quentin Tarantino Planning a Robert Blake-Inspired Prison Movie?

Now that Quentin Tarantino has shelved his Western titled The Hateful Eight due to someone in his "circle of trust" leaking the script, talk has already begun over what he'll do next. According to The Wrap, Tarantino is planning a sort of prison movie which draws inspiration from the murder case involving Baretta star, Robert Blake. Here's how they sum it up....

"Tarantino has been considering a prison movie of sorts and has immersed himself in the details of the Robert Blake case, though a representative for Blake told TheWrap several weeks ago that Tarantino has not reached out to the former Baretta star, who was acquitted of killing his wife."

If it's set in the 1970s, the time when Blake was something of a tough guy icon, then it should offer Tarantino plenty of chances to indulge in plenty of exploitation, B-movie, and pop culture references. This is all just speculation for now, and it's doubtful to be a straight retelling of events, so let's just wait and see how it develops.
