The first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was tremendously impressive, suggesting 20th Century Fox made the right move choosing Matt Reeves as director. And so it's even more encouraging that Fox feels so good about the work he's done that they've gone ahead and signed him for the sequel.
Deadline reports Reeves will direct the third 'Planet of the Apes' movies, quickly locking him in after positive screenings. Reeves will also co-write the script with the returning Mark Bomback, who seems to be on a roll after The Wolverine.
Reeves won't wait long to get into it, either, beginning production once Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is all wrapped up and in theaters after July 11th 2014.
