First Preview Footage from the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Trailer

Later on tonight Marvel will be revealing the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, arguably their riskiest gamble yet. The team of misfit intergalactic heroes aren't generally known by those who don't read comics on a regular basis, and the cast is an odd assortment of supporting players thrust into leads. But for all of that, the film also looks like Marvel's most unabashedly weird and fun yet. And how could it not be with a gun-wielding raccoon and giant tree creature as part of the team?

A 20-second preview of tonight's trailer has arrived and it offers up big space-faring action and a ton of visual effects. We get a glimpse of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana looking sexy as the green-skinned Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Groot voiced by Vin Diesel. They've kept Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon hidden behind Groot but we'll get a much better look at him soon. There's also a look at Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, an ally of the villain Thanos.
