Biopic on Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn's Romance in the Works

We already saw one movie on a legendary screen couple, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, in Lindsay Lohan's Liz & Dick. That didn't turn out so well, did it? But maybe a movie on the three-decade romance between Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy will fare much better.

Deadline reports that a big screen biopic titled Tracy and Hepburn is in the works, scripted by David Rambo. The film would chart the course of their relationship, from their first meeting before filming Woman of the Year, to Tracy's death in 1967 just days after finishing Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. They shot nine movies together over the course of 25 years, and were romantically attached off-screen for much of that time even though Tracy remained married to his wife. They kept the affair private and maintained separate residences, but their relationship was an open secret in Hollywood.

Filming is to begin some time in the next year, but first a director and the perfect actors to play the pair need to be found. Anybody calling up Cate Blanchett to play Hepburn, yet? She's already proven in The Aviator it's a role she's perfectly suited for.
