Trailer for Acclaimed Documentary 'Jodorowsky's Dune'
Back in the 1970s, cult favorite director Alejandro Jodorowsky began developing a wildly ambitious adaptation of Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic, Dune. He had secured the talents of big stars from all corners, including Mick Jagger, Salvador Dali (!!!), Pink Floyd, Orson Welles, H.R. Giger, and many more for a visionary take on the material that was well beyond the times. And then the whole thing imploded, with the unfinished project considered one of the greatest films never seen.
The story of that doomed production is captured by director Frank Pavich in the documentary, Jodorowsky's Dune, which has been playing the festival circuit to rave reviews. The first trailer has arrived and it looks like a fascinating glimpse inside the director's vivid imagination to put something like Dune together, and how even in failure his ambition managed to inspire others. I'm looking forward to this one. Jodorowsky's Dune opens on March 21st.
