Ice Cube in Talks to Return for 'Barbershop 3'

Who's ready to sweep up some hair? Ice Cube's Barbershop films were a big part of his move into Hollywood, setting him as the face of two successful comedies (over $130M combined) and one spinoff in Queen Latifah's Beauty Shop. The franchise has been dormant for nearly a decade, but with Ice Cube hotter than ever now after 21 Jump Street and Ride Along, it's time for the barbershop to re-open.

Deadline reports MGM is in talks with Cube to reprise his role as Calvin Palmer in Barbershop 3, offering a hefty mid-seven-figure deal. The plan is to try and bring back Cedric the Entertainer and Queen Latifah, but nothing on who might direct. Tim Story, who Cube just worked with on Ride Along, directed the first Barbershop while Kevin Rodney Sullivan (remember him? Bet you don't.) helmed the sequel, Barbershop 2: Back in Business.

Add this to Cube's growing list of potentially lucrative sequels. He'll be seen later this year in 22 Jump Street and will go on patrol with Kevin Hart for Ride Along 2.
