Teaser for Capcom's 'Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist' Live-Action Series

The folks over at Machinima have given us a live-action series based on Mortal Kombat, which is fine except everybody knows the real deal fighting video game was Street Fighter. Not even close, really. And so it only made sense that Capcom would get into the game with their own series following the battles of Ken, Ryu, Akuma, and more all around the world.

The first teaser for Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist has kicked its way online, just as Capcom has struck a deal to debut the entire series on Machinima at a later date. Joey Ansah, who wrote and directed the fan film Street Fighter: Legacy, is helming the show and starring as Akuma. Christian Howard is reprising his role as the brash Ken Masters, with Mike Moh as his friend and rival, Ryu. We can expect to see many more of the game's most popular characters and how their lives intertwine in the quest to become Ansatsuken Master.

It looks pretty cool, but until I see a fireball or hurricane kick it won't feel totally like Street Fighter to me. Perhaps if this works we'll be able to convince Capcom to do a Rival Schools series. I'd give anything for that.
