New Trailer for Gia Coppola's 'Palo Alto' Starring Emma Roberts and James Franco

Between Francis Ford, Sofia, and Roman, the Coppola name is one of the most storied in all of Hollywood, and that filmmaking tradition is being carried on by the next generation. Francis' granddaughter Gia Coppola is making her directorial debut with Palo Alto, adapted from the writings of James Franco. With the film set to open in just a few weeks, a new trailer takes us into the complicated lives of Cali teens.

Starring Emma Roberts, Val Kilmer, his son Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, and Franco himself, the story tells multiple intertwining stories about the difficult life decisions made by a group of Palo Alto teenagers. This isn't too vastly different from an earlier trailer, and the specific stories being told tend to be the familiar ones dealing with love, angst, and personal identity. Coppola wrote the script, but it's clear she's drawing from Sofia for directorial inspiration.

Palo Alto opens May 9th.
