Franco shot a short video as Alien, barely conscious and chewing on a boring ol' rice cake. A voice from off-screen says Alien smoked too much dope at the club, but I think the implication is that Spring Breakers: The Second Coming sounds hella weak. He pretty much comes out and says so in the post's caption: "ALIEN IN REHAB! And BTW F*** that SBers 2 BS, they're doing it without HARMONY's CONSENT. Sounds LAME AS A MUTHA!"
It's that last bit that's of interest. Not that the producers at Wild Bunch need Korine's thumbs up to do a sequel, and certainly there are tons of hit films that get hastily put together sequels all of the time. But Spring Breakers was such a uniquely Korine movie that to do so without any input from him seems like a major problem, even with Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) penning the script. And rather than asking Korine for his input on who he'd like to see as director, Jonas Akerlund (Spun) was given the job.
Anyway, the video is below, and at least it's a sight better than the other stuff Franco has been posting lately.
