New Photos of Brad Pitt as Wardaddy in 'Fury'

Brad Pitt isn't an especially prolific actor; he's usually good for maybe two movies a year, if that. But last year he was especially busy, starring in three movies and scoring big in two of them. World War Z, which many pegged as a disaster, grossed north of $500M worldwide; and of course 12 Years A Slave won Best Picture. Next up, Pitt will star in David Ayer's WWII tank thriller, Fury, venturing onto the battlefield for the first time since Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.

A pair of new photos give us a look at Pitt as Sgt. Wardaddy, the leader of a five-man Sherman tank crew consisting of Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal, and Scott Eastwood. When they get stuck behind enemy lines in Nazi Germany, it's up to Wardaddy and his men to complete the mission despite being outgunned and outnumbered.

Ayer calls it his "ultimate tank movie" and says Pitt is playing a different role than anything he's done before....

Ayer: "He's playing this badass, hard, tough, intense guy. It's a different kind of role for him."

Fury steamrolls into theaters on November 14th, when it may be a sneaky Oscar contender.  [People]
