Rumor Has Emily Blunt Up for 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'
This weekend Emily Blunt will be seen in theaters opposite Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow, the latest in what has been a series of action-heavy roles for her, following on Looper and The Adjustment Bureau. She's also been up for a couple of Marvel roles and has always turned them down. She was Marvel's first choice to play Black Widow before it went to Scarlett Johansson, and she backed out of playing Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger. When rumors first started flying about Ms. Marvel being in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it was Blunt's name that came up. On the DC front, she was even rumored to be a part of The Dark Knight Rises but now there's a sketchy rumor that claims she'll have another chance to hang out with the likes of Batman.
Spanish site El Multicine says Blunt may be up for an unspecified role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is shooting now....
"The actress Emily Blunt will land on billboards worldwide with her film 'Edge of Tomorrow', in what appears to be a great science fiction role. Now her name returns to the orbit of comic adaptations with her possible incorporation in 'Batman Vs Superman', directed by Zack Snyder. A film that has been shooting since last month."
Chances are this won't pan out because these random stories from unproven sites rarely do, but it could be fun to speculate on who she could be, anyway. Maybe Zatanna? Oh please lord let it be Zatanna. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens May 6th 2016 and hopefully it will have Emily Blunt as Zatanna.
