'Mad Max: Fury Road' Sequel's Script Already Finished
While the Hall H experience at Comic-Con can largely be summed up as disappointing this year, one film that received an extremely enthusiastic reaction was George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. The footage presented there was met with near universal acclaim (although I wasn't totally blown away) by those who have been waiting an eternity for this film to happen, and now that it's finished Miller is already talking sequel. What's surprising is that he said during a press conference the script for it is already finished...
Miller: “In order to tell this story, we came up with two others. We’ve written the screenplay of one and the novelization of another, but it’s a very rough novel. We kept working on them while we were working on other things.”
Some years ago the plan was for Miller to film two Mad Max movies back-to-back. One was Fury Road led by Tom Hardy and the other was Mad Max: Furiosa and would center on Charlize Theron's character. That isn't what ended up happening, but is Furiosa what he's talking about? Probably, and hopefully as Miller continues to make the rounds he'll reveal more. Mad Max: Fury Road opens May 15th 2015.
