New Photos and Posters from Ridley Scott's 'Exodus: Gods and Kings'; Preps King David Film
Know who has the box office muscle to kick the butts of every Marvel and DC superhero Hollywood has to offer? God, that's who. And those folks in the Bible Belt who love them some G-O-D have been turning out in droves to see everything from Noah to small budget flicks like Son of God and Heaven Is for Real. The next one looking to get in on some of that sweet action is Ridley Scott, who has Exodus: Gods and Kings coming this December and is now readying another film based on the Old Testament.
First up, new posters and images for Exodus have been released, and they feature stars Christian Bale as the titular savior of the Israelites, with Joel Edgerton as his nemesis, Ramses. Okay, it's going to take some getting used to Bale and Edgerton as being from anywhere near Egypt, but with a massive budget and a cast that includes Ben Kingsley, Aaron Paul, and Sigourney Weaver (Kingsley maybe, but the rest?? Come on...) it should be easier to forgive. Exodus: Gods and Kings opens December 12th.
And Scott will continue to get Biblical as he's also set to produce a film based on King David. Yep, the guy who slayed Goliath with the sling and all that. But this is apparently not the same David vs. Goliath movie that was supposed to have Dwayne Johnson in it some time back. Instead this one will follow David later in his reign. Jonathan Stokes has been hired to write the script and while there is no director attached the door does seem to be open for Scott to take over. He's supposedly directing Matt Damon in The Martian next, and there's also a sequel to Prometheus on the horizon.[Variety]
