By now those who had any interest in Lars von Trier's...uhhh, let's call it "polarizing" sexual dramedy Nymphomaniac Vol. 1 & 2 probably caught them already. Both editions hit theaters and VOD earlier this year in edited form, while fuller versions played at Venice. But those who decided to wait for the real deal, the full unedited director's cut won't have to wait much longer as it arrives next month.
The 5 1/2 hour extended cut of Nymphomaniac will get a multiplatform international release on October 2nd. The erotic epic will hit U.S., Canada, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, and of course von Trier's native Denmark, and I'm sure they couldn't be prouder. More territories will follow in the coming weeks but you'll have to go to Denmark to see it in theaters, or hit up Fantastic Fest where it will debut later this week.
Nymphomaniac stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, and Stacy Martin, and follows a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac as she recounts her sexual history to a complete stranger.
