This weekend Ben Affleck will be the prime suspect in David Fincher's Gone Girl (review of that later tonight!), and after that he'll be plenty busy. Of course he'll be suiting up for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and will take the helm for the long-developing adaptation of Live by Night. But he's still managed to find time for one more acting role in The Accountant, a project once eyed by Will Smith and Mel Gibson.
According to Variety, Affleck has entered negotiations to star in the assassin film, which features a Black List script by Bill Dubuque, writer of Robert Downey Jr.'s The Judge. The story centers on a government accountant who doubles as an assassin. No director is on board for this one yet but Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) is said to be the top choice, although he has yet to be made an offer.
Affleck shoots Live by Night next July meaning this one would need to get moving pretty quickly.
