See the Rise of Aquaman in the Trailer for 'Justice League: Throne of Atlantis'

Depending on which camp you fall into, Aquaman is either a joke or one of the least appreciated DC superheroes around. But he's suddenly more popular than ever thanks to DC's New 52 line of comics, Jason Momoa's apparent role as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder's insistence the character is a badass. And if you're one of those looking forward to seeing how Aquaman is portrayed on the big screen, a good primer may be the animated film Justice League: Throne of Atlantis.

A follow-up to Justice League: War, this film is an adaptation of the Geoff Johns comics storyline that has Aquaman's brother King Orm declaring war on the surface world. The Aquaman we are introduced to has no idea of his Atlantean heritage or the origins of his powers. He's very much like Clark Kent at the beginning of Man of Steel, until he's forced to choose sides in a battle between his family and and the world's greatest superheroes.

Featuring the voices of Matt Lanter as Aquaman, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Christopher Gorham as The Flash, Sean Astin as Shazam, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Sam Witwer, as Orm, and Sumalee Montano as Mera, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis hits Blu-Ray/DVD next year.
