The film that launched Eli Roth's career, Cabin Fever, is getting a remake and production is already underway. How did they get it up and running so fast? Easy, by using the exact same script from Roth's film. That's right, director Travis Zariwny is using Roth and Randy Pearlstein's screenplay word-for-word, which makes things pretty easy. Roth will exec-produce with Gage Golightly, Dustin Ingram, Samuel Davis, Matthew Daddario, and Nadine Crocker starring in the story of a group of friends ravaged by a flesh-eating virus while staying at a cabin in the woods.
Steve Pink will get out of the Hot Tub Time Machine to direct Cop Swap, an original comedy he'll write with Jeff Morris. The story is based on a real-life foreign exchange program and follows a misfit group of international cops on an internship with the LAPD who, led by a misfit American officer, stumble upon a major crime. Pink, who last directed About Last Night, may want to dial up Kevin Hart for this one. Call it a hunch. [Deadline]
