With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on the way, we've seen characters familiar to both heroes' worlds getting cast. So we've got Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Jared Leto will show up at some point as Joker. But there's one major Bat-character who has been absent from any casting news, and now a rumor has surfaced as to why. It should go without saying but SPOILERS below!!
According to Badass Digest (who are slow trickling every bit of news they have on BvS), you won't be seeing any of Batman's pal Jim Gordon in the film, except on a memorial plaque. Gordon will have died at some point before the story begins, and considering this takes place deep into Batman's crime-fighting career that should come as no surprise. Whether he died of natural causes (doubtful in a place like Gotham) or was killed by some costumed villain (likely) is unclear but chances are his death has made Bruce Wayne even meaner.
