See Julianne Moore's Award-Winning Performance in New 'Still Alice' Trailer
Today has been a pretty good day for Julianne Moore. Not only did she wake up to learn Washington DC film critics had awarded her Best Actress for her performance in Still Alice, adding to her list of accolades for the role. But right on cue a new trailer for the film has arrived to show exactly why Moore is likely to hear her name called at the Academy Awards.
Also starring Kristen Stewart, Alec Baldwin, and Kate Bosworth, the film has Moore as an academic who is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease. The effects of the disease are devastating as the perfect life she had built begins to slip away and threatens her children, as well. It's a perfectly fine movie and Moore is fantastic as always, but she didn't get much help from co-directors Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland, who also helmed the lackluster Errol Flynn biopic The Last of Robin Hood. As noted in my review, it is "so busy being compassionate that it forgets to be anything else."
Still Alice is in theaters and will expand on January 16th.
