Mark Hamill is Back as the Trickster on CW's 'The Flash'

One thing is clear and it's that the folks behind CW's The Flash love the Flash TV series from the 1990s. They've already cast that show's star, John Wesley Shipp, to play the father of Grant Gustin's Barry Allen, and now they're reaching back into the past for another former cast mate. Hitfix says Mark Hamill, yes THAT Mark Hamill, will be returning to play James Jesse aka the Trickster.

Hamill played the Trickster in the original TV series, and also voiced the villain the animated Justice League Unlimited, so he knows the character through and through. In fact, his version probably skewed closer to the Joker than anything we had seen, or maybe closer to the maniacal comic book villain he played in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. This version is described as "an anarchist terrorist  con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original's deadly footsteps."

So this is a pretty good deal all around. Hamill's interpretation of Trickster was one of the most memorable things about the original show, and now producers get to bring him back while creating a new version of the character.  Trickster will debut on the 17th episode of The Flash some time in 2015.
