Anne Hathaway is 'The Burning Woman'; Laura Dern Joins Kelly Reichardt Drama; Timothy Olyphant Boards Snowden Pic

Anne Hathaway is eying a role in The Burning Woman, a film penned by Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnace) and produced by Ridley Scott. This one sounds like a potentially great  role, too, as the film begins when "a 32-year-old woman’s teen daughter goes missing and she is left to raise her infant grandson alone. The story is told over the course of 11 years, from the time her daughter vanishes, through the the trials-and-tribulations of subsequent years looking for closure, leading up the long-awaited discovery of the truth." A director is being sought now. [Deadline]

Recently we learned neo-realist director Kelly Reichardt (Wendy & Lucy, Meek's Cutoff) would be reteaming with Michelle Williams for the third time on a new drama. Now the cast is starting to fill out as filming gears up to begin this spring. Oscar-nominee Laura Dern (Wild), Jared Harris, and James Le Gros have joined the cast of the film which THR says is based on the short stories by Maile Meloy. Film Divider says the movie will be titled Helena and Montana, centering on the lives of small-town folk, and with production to take place in Montana they may be right. For now it is officially untitled.

Now that FX's Justified is coming to an end, its star Timothy Olyphant has found himself a new gig. He'll join Oliver Stone's brewing Edward Snowden film, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley. Olyphant will play a CIA agent who befriended Snowden before he fled to Russia after leaking massive amounts of classified documents. [Deadline]
