Another Weird Trailer for Ryan Gosling's 'Lost River'

For a film that is only getting a limited theatrical and VOD release, there has been a lot of talk about Ryan Gosling's Lost River. Unfortunately most it hasn't been positive as the dark fantasy film got skewered at Cannes last year. But to be fair, plenty of other films have been ripped out there only to be warmly received elsewhere, and maybe that is what will happen when it plays at SXSW next month.

Before that happens a new trailer has been released which features some new footage that is undeniably beautiful. Gosling seems to have acquired a cinematic eye similar to his pal Nicolas Winding Refn, and now we just need to see if the whole thing comes together. Starring Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Iain De Caestecker, Matt Smith, Ben Mendelsohn, and Saoirse Ronan, the film centers on a single mother and her son who hit upon hard times before discovering a mysterious underwater world.

Lost River will be released on April 10th.
