Never really been a big fan of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and that isn't likely to change with the live-action film that's hitting theaters soon. But Adi Shankar, the producer who gave us the Punisher short film "Dirty Laundry", as well as the Venom film "Truth in Journalism", has found a way to make the Power Rangers cool. His latest film, titled Power/Rangers, is directed by Joseph Kahn and is a violent, gritty, R-rated take set in a future in which the Rangers appear to have turned on one another while facing the Machine Empire. James Van Der Beek stars as the former Red Ranger, Kate Sackhoff is the Pink Ranger. Bree Olson (!!!) Russ Bain, Will Yun Lee, and Carla Perez make up the most impressive cast Shankar has ever assembled.
