Ben Hardy to Play "Significant" Character in 'X-men: Apocalypse'

A few months ago Eastenders star Ben Hardy emerged on a list of potential candidates to play Cyclops in X-men: Apocalypse. That role ultimately went to Tye Sheridan, but apparently Bryan Singer liked what he saw (save your jokes!!) because Hardy just landed a role that might be even better.

According to Variety, Hardy has joined X-men: Apocalypse in a role described as very "significant" to the X-men universe. Go ahead and let the speculation fly who it could be. At one point he was also up to play a younger version of Angel (Ben Foster donned the wings in X-men: The Last Stand) but that is not the character he's taking on now. One has to assume he's playing a young version of an established X-man. My guess is that he won't be playing Angel, but instead will be Archangel, the dark, twisted version created by Apocalypse.

Along with Sheridan taking the Cyclops role, Sophie Turner is playing Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp is Storm, Channing Tatum is Gambit, Kodi Smit-McPhee is Nightcrawler, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse. X-men: Apocalypse opens May 27th 2016 and features the return of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rose Byrne.
