'The Lego Movie Sequel' Lands 'Community' Director Rob Schrab
It has been clear for awhile now that Phil Lord and Chris Miller wouldn't return to direct The Lego Movie sequel. The infallible duo will write and produce the sequel to everybody's favorite animated movie of last year (screw the Oscars!), which has now grown into a blockbuster franchise that will sell about a billion toys. For a time it looked as if Chris McKay, a co-director on The Lego Movie, would be the obvious choice for the next one. But as he's busy on the Lego Batman film, the job has gone to Rob Schrab.
Schrab, an award-winning director of The Sarah Silverman Program, Community, and The Mindy Project, will step behind the camera for the film, which is officially titled The Lego Movie Sequel. Ba dum bum! He's also one of the co-writers on the excellent 2006 animated horror-comedy, Monster House.
The Lego Movie Sequel gets constructed on May 28th 2018.
