It looks like Miles Teller will be one of the Arms and the Dudes. Last year we learned Teller could be joining Jonah Hill in the Todd Phillips-directed film about a pair of Miami stoners who somehow earned a $300M government contract to sell weapons in Afghanistan. Now Deadline confirms that the deal is done. Phillips will be co-writing the script with Jason Smilovic, based on the Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson.
And Keri Russell will be joining Matthew McConaughey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in The Free State of Jones. Russell, along with Mahershala Ali, have boarded the film written and directed by Gary Ross that recounts the true story of Newton Knight, who rebelled against the Confederacy during the Civil War. He attempted to establish the "Free State of Jones", a small mixed-race community in Mississippi. Russell will play Knight's wife, while Ali will play an ex-slave who becomes a key part of the rebellion. [TheWrap]
