Robert Pattinson Hits 'Brimstone'; Samuel L. Jackson meets 'Miss Peregrine', and Much More

Deals are flying fast and furious in Berlin right now so let's just try and wrap the majority of them up here.

Martin Koolhoven's upcoming Western, Brimstone, is already looking like one of the gems on the sales floor with Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce set to star. Now Pearce will be joined by his The Rover co-star, Robert Pattinson, in the film about "a heroine on the run from her past and a diabolical preacher." Also coming aboard is Carice Van Houten (Game of Thrones). Pattinson will play an outlaw.[ScreenDaily]

Samuel L. Jackson and Tim Burton sound like a match made in Crazy Town. Jackson is set to join Burton's next film, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which will star Eva Green and Asa Butterfield. Jackson will play Barron, which sounds villainous but nobody will confirm whether that's actually the case. Based on the book by Random Riggs, the story centers on a boy named Jacob who comes to stay at the titular orphanage where other kids with strange abilities live. The film is set to open March 4th 2016. [Deadline]

Michael Shannon and Imogen Poots are set to headline Frank and Lola, a romance directed by Matthew Ross. Michael Nyqvist, Justin Long, Rosanna Arquette and Emmanuelle Devos also star in the film about a talented Las Vegas chef and a fashion designer who fall in love until her shocking past resurfaces to haunt them.

Olga Kurylenko is set to star in the thriller, Duelo, co-starring with co-director Jordi Molla. Also directed by Giuseppte Ferlito, the film follows "a famous actress who engages in a game of cat-and-mouse with the person who years earlier viciously attacked her fiancé and left him in a coma." Richard Gere is being joined in Oppenheimer Strategies by Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dan Stevens, Michael Sheen, Steve Buscemi, Josh Charles, Isaach De Bankolé and Lior Ashkenazi. Directed by Joseph Cedar, the film has Gere playing Norman Oppenheimer, who befriended an Israeli politician only to have that man become Prime Minister three years later.
