Trailer and Poster for Moody Thriller ' Regression' starring Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke

Although he's only six feature films into his career, Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar has won an Academy Award for The Sea Inside, eight Goya Awards, and directed one of the most acclaimed ghost stories in The Others. In other words, he's a pretty big deal, and now he's back with Regression, a new thriller led by the intriguing combination of Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke.

Set in 1990, the film stars Hawke as a detective brought in to investigate the case of a young woman (Watson) who accuses her father of a terrible crime. After he confesses under mysterious circumstances, the detective digs deeper only to discover something far-reaching and more horrific than he imagined.

This teaser is definitely moody and somewhat creepy, but the big draw is going to be how Watson and Hawke perform in this kind of material. Regression opens on August 28th.
