What exactly is the point of a Valentine's Day trailer for a film that comes out in April? While the actual holiday will find many couples exploring...uh, less traditional forms of romance with Fifty Shades of Grey, Nicholas Sparks fans will have to wait awhile for The Longest Ride and the brand of sappy love story he offers.
Starring Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood, Jack Huston, and Oona Chaplin, the story follows the relationship between a bull rider and a city gal which is so totally fraught with difficulties and stuff. They come from totally different worlds, y'know! The great Alan Alda plays an older gentleman who may help put things into perspective, though, by telling them his own sad story.
Eh. Directed by George Tillman Jr., The Longest Ride opens April 10th.
