Weird Trailer for Takashi Miike's 'Yakuza Apocalypse' starring Yayan Ruhian

Only Takashi Miike could have two movies of such vastly different genres completed at the same friggin' time. The prolific director is coming our way in 2015 with the awesome-sounding vampire gangster flick, Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of the Underworld, and Lion Standing Against the Wind which is...something cheerier.

First up, Yakuza Apocalypse stars The Raid and The Raid 2's Yayan Ruhian (!!!), along with Hayato Ichihara, and centers on a yakuza underling who discovers that his boss is an invincible vampire. Unfortunately, their enemies find out too and dispatch an assassin to take him out.

This teaser is brief but absolutely nuts. Yakuza Apocalypse opens in Japan on June 20th.

And then there's Lion Standing Against the Wind, which looks like an uplifting drama set in Kenya. It's based on the book by Masashi Sada, and here's the synopsis followed by the trailer:

Koichiro Shimada (Takao Osawa) is sent to a research facility in Kenya, Africa from a teaching hospital in Japan. He encounters a desperate situation and decides to work there as a doctor, treating patients hurt in battles. He struggles with nurses and colleagues at the hospital. Koichiro Shimada then encounters a boy soldier severely wounded mentally. This changes Koichiro Shimada’s fate.
