Give it up to the marketing folks at Lionsgate who have figured out how to get a ton of mileage out of The Hunger Games without needing to do very much. For instance, this first teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 which is the familiar blazing logo we are accustomed to, along with some moving dialogue from the previous films. There's absolutely nothing new here and yet it will undoubtedly get fans of the franchise juiced for the big finale.
The teaser will debut this weekend along with The Divergent Series: Insurgent, which makes sense considering they tell similar futuristic stories about women fighting back against a flawed society. Mockingjay will pick up with Katniss trying to bring Peeta back from the depths of madness, while also embracing her new role as leader of the rebellion against the Capital.
Can she do it? What do you think? And let's not forget that Lionsgate really wants to see their cash cow go on for as long as possible, so this may not be the end.
