Ever what the flipside to William Friedkin's classic The French Connection would look like? Well, you got a taste when the teaser for Cedric Jimenez's La French (aka The Connection) was released last summer. Now a fuller red band version of the trailer has landed and it shows a more serious, gritty side to The Artist star, Jean Dujardin.
The film stars Dujardin as real-life detective Pierre Michel as he tries to put an end to a drug smuggling ring known as "The French Connection" in the 1970s. Stylistically, and naturally in terms of story, this looks like a slickly produced companion piece to Friedkin's film.
Also starring Gilles Lellouche, The Connection opens on May 15th.
